Jessie Jars campaign raises over £1,000

Jessie Hayman is 13 years old, but she was only 12 last year when her mum, Kerry, was diagnosed with EHE in February 2016. Jessie and her whole family were devastated. But like many people facing rare cancer, they decided to fight back and launched themselves into fundraising for EHERCC, starting with last year's EHE April Fundraising Month. In the third quarter Jessie decided she would also start collecting 1p and 2p coins in a jar. She asked family members to do the same, and quickly realised this was something many people might do. So Jessie started asking and soon had friends, neighbours, school friends and local businesses all enrolled. The campaign ended on 31st December, and raised over £1,000 for EHERCC.

Jessie is taking a rest but we hope that she may relaunch he campaign later this year, and that Jessie Jars may just become an annual event. We will update everybody if and when that happens. But for now, Jessie and her support team (the Hayman family) are having a well-earned rest.
