The 29th July was the date for the 2018 Prudential RideLondon 100 cycling event, and the EHERCC were delighted to be represented by a four-man team in the Amstel Team event. Dominic Steinitz, Scott Milligan, Mark Schaffer and Nik Brown had all been in intense training. Fears of ultra-high temperatures seen in the preceding month turned out to be unfounded as race day dawned with rain and much lower temperatures. This did not however put off our determined quartet who all completed the race in good times.
Steven Barr, who had manfully taken on the entire training and organisation of the team was delighted at their achievements. Hugh Leonard agreed. “It is a gruelling event and the weather made things very challenging for all the riders.” Hugh noted. “To complete the course, representing EHERCC, was fantastic, and to arise over £3,400 for EHE research was awesome. We are so grateful”.
